The blokart is now seven years old, constant testing and development has seen it win design awards globally and build an international following of enthusiasts and racers. Now its time for a new model - the 2008 Blokart Sport and Pro models will include modifications to the kart, sail and bag.
SAILFabric change: rear clear panel (from Scrim to Monofilm); kicker panel (from Scrim to Dacron). Batten Tensioning: we developed a simple and quick batten tensioning system |
|
Fabric change - the new seat fabric is a reflective grey so it will not heat up in the sun to the same degree as the current black seat. The seat will also be welded instead of sewn. |
|
Fabric change - the new bag is changing to grey fabric with increased reinforcing for a more robust bag. The new bag will also include a shoulder strap and an ergonomic trundle handle to allow easy carrying. |
SEAT BELTTaken from an aircraft application, the new blokart seatbelt is foolproof; all stainless steel components will prevent the clip from malfunctioning. |
CHASSISWe are moving the seat rail (front of the seat) forward to increase the chassis strength and also make the blokart more comfortable for taller people. We are replacing the backrest clamp with a spring button system which will speed up assembling and disassembling the blokart. |
STUB AXLEThe 2008 kart will have 17mm stub axles as standard and the 15mm stub axle will only be available for replacements. The 17mm stub axle is more robust. |
FRONT FORKThis new front fork will be a huge improvement both functionally and aesthetically working seamlessly with the recently released front disc brake. One of the key benefits of this fork is servicing and replacement parts; the new fork made up of two machined parts and a forged arm. This means if you bend the stem you can remove it and replace just the stem rather than the whole fork. |
